morning dave, i think you will find these catch tanks are aimed more at high performance vehicles really, they stop oil/ oilfumes from re-entering engine and causing fueling problems. more info found here.

I particularly liked the 'magnetic bung to catch foreign bodies'....I suspect if you had metal particles being exhausted in that fashion you'd already be in serious trouble LMAO!

Did you ever do your oil catch tank job?
I need one now
Any ideas:cool:

Ah well into the unknown then:augie I cleaned out so much gunk today, I'm not putting any more back in it:lol

They are a good idea on diesels, they stop the blowby oil mixing with the EGR soot and reduces the crap going into the cylinderhead.

:)

I fitted one 18 months ago when i first got the Patrol :thumb2

well worth the time and effort, but please get a good one, there needs
to be an internal baffel to brake up the air flow and allow the suspended
oil to settle.

Also use good quality hoses for the hot oil/air mix cheep ones will just degrade

I Now have a much better air flow and the Intercooler is much much cleaner :thumb2

Would like to fit a better, bigger and more efficient intercooler :clap:clap

That's pretty much what I'm up to. I've removed the EGR and now want to keep the oil from going into the I/C . As without all the black crud in it , some cooling might actually happen now:thumbs
What catch tank did you get and is a 1litre ok

Hi ya

i got a cheep one then after finding all the little probs and mods it works gr8
