Other than the maverick we have this that the wife batters everyday :(
Great cars and this is our 2nd one, the first being the mk1 1.8t vrs.

It is pretty unloved at the minute due to the maverick taking all my spare time.

It did used to get some live before the 4x4 came on the scene :D

Engine wise it's the standard 2.0 tfsi petrol, ultra reliable and bags of room.

Nice car and I'll forgive the wheels seen as mrs snh drives it:thumb2

Couldn't see the Briskoda sticker though?

No brisky stickers on now as all stickers have been taken off. Wheels are a bit marmite but it was the silly offset that sold them to me lol. Folks said they wouldn't fit so that spurred me on even more :D

I'd be torn between a VRS or a 4x4 Octavia Estate.

If I was to do it again and could afford it I'd have gone for the yeti 4x4. 170bhp diesel. Although it's a cracking car and reliable as hell its just to new for me.

My mate has one & it's bloody quick after all the mods it's had done:thumbs I personally don't like any VAG's made after 2000, love MK2 Golf's, the caddy pick up, carrado's & the Cal look beetles

It's definately quick, had a mk1 octy vrs before this which is the 1.8t and that was great too.
Mk1 is basically a well Specced booted mk4 golf without the price tag and the mk2 is a mk5 golf. Serious value for money over vw, audi and seat.

I prefer my older motors and had a mk3 golf vr6 which I prefered over this.

This was modded engine wise but I went through a phase of wanting to sell it so sold all the goodies and wound the coilovers up a touch. Still undecided what to do with it at the minute tbh.

This has been laid up poorly for the last 5-6 months so I thought I'd better get it fixed and roadworthy again.
New cam follower, recirculation valve and a kick of paint on the wheels and it's now mobile. Few bits need a lock of paint but that can wait.

Nice!!! Some right torque steer on those, I drove my dad's estate one before that he had

Seen the progression of this already on Instagram :naughty

It's a love hate relationship between us lol.

Didn't realise you are on insta

It's my age I live in the past with Fiat & Skodas !

Despite the fact that they are great vehicles now I just can't get past how Fiats & Skodas used to be in the 1960-70 's.

I remember how the Skoda door handles would snap back in the 70's and they were hard to find replacements and that our local Vet had a Fiat 128 Sport Coupe - when it's first MoT was due it was scrap due to corrosion !

Somehow I just can't find any desire in me to own either make. This is coming from someone who has a Chrysler 300 CRD so clearly I need help ! lol

A lot has since then dude, it's basically a mk5 golf without the price tag. Excellent value for money compared to the other same chassis'd vag motors, this is my 2nd Octavia vrs the first being a mk1 which was a mk4 chassis :thumb2

Always had cars as company cars, various Golf, Seat Leon, Octavia etc. Also a Skoda Superb.

Never had a thing go wrong, in fact the cars saved us a few times on accidents.
Now have a Seat Leon ST FR in 2.0TDI, nicest car I've owned. And even with only 150bhp bloody quick...

The more I drive it again the more I keep considering getting rid of the mav and getting a standard 4x4 for towing the horse
