Thanks for feedback guys
I have done a temporary bodge which seems OK for now with the weak joint
I partly filled it with hot glue, then heated it up with the shrink gun until it was soft again, heated the male and pressed them together after floating a pool of silicon grease on top of the soft glue, the idea being to lubricate the 'new' socket
Cooled it all with air line,
Seems a lot better will not fall apart [so far]
Problem now is getting enough force onto the other end to get it to click in place onto the N/S wiper bit
A problem I am sure you guys must have figured out
Once again HELP :bow:bow

Banshee, sorry to hijack but you don’t happen to have a pair of grey boot side teims for a lwb do you? The type that with the roller blind.

Home wiper repair is a bit like a knee joint replacement a lot of pain sometimes for little gain.

The Nylon Cup is very wear resistant although it does degrade over long periods of time turning brittle.

I would try to replace it with a good used link if you can.

flea bay search might get lucky quite a few listings

The picture does not look like my old one which looks like a flat bar at each end with the centre being a 'C' shape, all one piece of metal
My immediate problem is getting the old good joint pressed into place on the centre male ball [L/H] link
I will have the same problem with a new joint so learning how to do it with the old one seems to me to be a good first step

If you put your vehicle details in the "see compatible vehicles" section it will tell you if they have one for your model then re enter the item description you should get more model options - if you get my drift - forgive me if I am stating the obvious. Also if there is a part number stamped on your old arm try a search by that method.

The check if this part fits your vehicle has a huge drop down menu of Ford & Nissan models.

Thanks,
My problem right now is how to snap the joint together
It is pretty hard to do on the bench, cant get the leverage to do it on the car
Or do I remove the wiper motor, assemble everything then thread it all through the holes?

My current fix may not last long but I will need to know how if/when I get a new part

They should not be that hard to snap together, but G cramp comes to mind, Rick

Thanks Rick, not sure if I can get a clamp in there, mole grip may get in there
I will give it a try later today [Mon]
