could be a bit of bad wiring somewhere.
my n/s one had an intermittant fault so i had a good look at it and the wire had corroded just where they come out from the body.replaced the wire from behind the rear interior panel to the light unit and it has been fine ever since.

Hi Chaz, do you have a tow bar? if so the cable connection may have been made to that wire, and it could have been cut or corroded.
Just a thought.

are the terminals in the bulb holder corroded. is the bulb fitting snug try wiggling the bulb while its on to see if it flickers

Been working on it today. Took the rear light cluster off and disconected the multi pin plug that joins the loom to to the rear lights. Got a bulb tester and conected it to the earth and live conection that feeds the rear light on the socket comming off the loom, had power. Then checked the plug on the end of the wiring from the light cluster. OH dear the live pin that feeds the wire to the rear light was lose you can wiggle it about the other three are firm which is why I still have my indicator, fog light. I tried messing about with it to no avail it must be broken inside. These multi plugs are sealed with no access to the wires or pins, will I have to get a new cluster harness with bulb holders and pin conector from Nissan or can you get DIY waterproof multi plugs ? Not a big job, but what is the best way to tackle this as I have never done wiring on a car, and I dont fancy cutting the sockett of the main wiring loom as the problem is with the plug. Any help appreciated
