Hi Chaps,

My terrano number plates lights were not working and investigation showed it was due to positive conector pin within the light bulb housings corroding through. This has left the bit of pin stuck in the connector so I connot fit my new (and very expensive) number plate lights.

Does anybody know how to remove the crimp from the connector housing so I can poke the bit out or how to get the corroded bit of connector out?

Problem now sorted.

I carefully drilled out what was left of the old connector with a 1mm drill then tapped the connector housing with a screwdriver to shake out the green corroded remains of the old pin. The new light assembly was then wiggled home to clean the crimp. Finally the connector was half filled with CONTRALUBE 770 (Maplin N73HL) and pushed back together to form a long lasting water resistant connection (I hope).

Hey well done and I think an exposed light that we should all keep an eye on. got to say I normally use somekind of grease to keep the water at bay.

Jim
