now the heater matrix has decided to bite me!

Ok coolant leak on passenger side, windows steaming up, smelly heater (yes I know I blamed the non existant pollen filter)
Question is: I want to try to put a sealant into the system and see if that does the job and seals the matrix - before I go mad and strip out the whole of the dash, which I believe means I have to get the Air Con regassed.
If you think something like "Bars" could work, do I stick it straight in the rad or do I need to flush the system first? blow by blow DIY instructs would be a great help.................

i have found 'K seal' very good, even sealed a cracked engine block in a diahatsu - but I've never tried it on a matrix.

It's worth a try, 2 clicks and it's ordered, if it works it's a very cheap fix, and it is in the system ready for a new leak....
