Had a run out this afternoon did a few local lanes around Mansfield then went a bit further afield. (on a Recce)
Came to end of byway then onto next one very close by.
Locked steel gate right next to Byway sign. ( no TRO notice spoke to farmers wife and was told its kept locked to stop fly tipping.
could not drive around it as there was a stock fence one side and a stream the other.
so drove to other end near Shirebrook and there was steel gate posts but no gate . or (tros).
Drove all the way to other end about a mile with no problem.
nice easy drive hard surfaced and some of it tarmaced.
It would be good to get this re opened as it makes a very good round robin with all the other lanes in the erea.

ntts byway locked gate

THIS IS THE REPLY I HAD FROM NOTTS GLASS REP.
this is a classic type of lane when it cross through two county's

this lane was a RUPP

Notts end with the Byway sign they upgrade it to a byway and thats all ok

The other end is in Derbyshire and they made there part a restricted byway

Through complaints from fly tipping it was agreed that they could put the gate on the Notts end as you could only travel about 100 yards up the lane

there are a few more lane in the shirebrook area all are restricted byways

as the trailwise id shows not access for cars
