Ok guys,we are due a weeks hols here on the 10th August Thoresby hall Nottinghamshire. My main issue is having the correct rear diff oil seal replaced..

I do not have the the ability to do this myself.AArrgggh.(Nissan has sent the wrong seal out twice)Not sure how they can get it wrong on a 2000 Truck.

Anyway i digress,i was wondering if anyone knew of a a few gentle lanes in the area(Mrs dont't like off roading) But guess who does:thumb2

A lot of easy lanes around North Nottinghamshire.
A nice ford at spitfire bottoms, Have a search on the forum for North Notts laning. Have done a few days out around the area.

Thanks for that elty.Have had a look, and picked up a few possible routes. If i can get this dam leaky rear diff seal sorted.I may have to do a recce or two.If i have the time before we go away..

There is a byway near a place called church Laneham which brings you out next to the river which is a perfect stop for a bit of lunch :thumb2
I think I have got an overlay for memory map at home on the pc of the route we used to do with Ian Douglas.

Thanks for that. But i may not be going in my truck after all.Went to pick it up after having the rear diff seal done.Engine light stayed on and it was in limp mode. Was told "oh ya battery went flat so we jumped started it".....Doh i was thinking.Long story short had it on a mates diagnostics machine. And it came up 93,emc 15. (No idea what the numbers are).Mates diagnostic would clear it,but light back on each time i started the engine.Truck now back at garage after a lengthy debate..

Fault code 93 ignition circuit ECM voltage supply (short circuit)
Fault code 15 Fuel quantity adjuster position sensor - circuit malfunction

Bry, try the paperclip method and see what it throws up. Hope its not number 1 injector.

take off + lead and leave overnight, make sure batt is fully charged, reconnect batt turn ign on to glow, turn off take key out lock door ,unlock door then start as usual.hope this works.

Thanks jonela.i will look into this further Jim i replcaced the number one injector a few months back (although symptoms are the same). It was the same diagnostic machine used to tell me it was the injector last time(But not listing that as a fault this time round).panelbeater i cannot do anything at the minute, the truck is back at the garage that caused this problem. Thanks for the input guys..

Ask them how they jumped it, if they used a charger/starter, (many garages do) but if it has not been tested recently it could well have given your system much more than a safe 15 volts and fried something, Rick

Rick, they did say that they used a 12 volt booster battery to jump start the truck.Whatever they used/did.I am pretty sure they have fried something.

if yours is a Bosch pump, I do have an ecu you can have if it turns out they have damaged it, Rick

Do you have anyone with ECUTalk near you ?, are you in contact with Andy(judd750) I know he can do it for you

Jonela,i do know Andy. The diagnostic machine used to get the said error codes is a professional Autel Maxidas. (My mates).Using this we could clear the codes. But as soon as i started the engine, the errors reappeared.
And based on the info you gave earlier,i am thinking that the ecu is fried.I know there are companies that can repair them. For the moment i have wait and see what the garage are going to do.Not over confident though. When i took it back to them they could not get the same error codes using a similar machine as my mates.

Rick yes it is a bosch thankyou.will be in touch.

Also my mates Autel Maxidas diagnostic machine gave me my System id number. And my ecu number.
Although none of this is of use at the moment.

Update.Have been around to the garage this morning.
Was shown the booster packs used to start it.First thing i was told was the fuel lines were getting hot.So i showed the mechanic the code 15, (fuel quality adjuster sensor malfunction).
Then i was told there must be a ignition problem that was draining the battery.I showed him the code 93. (Ignition circuit voltage supply malfunction.)My reply was these problems were caused when they jumped the truck. He then suggested that i had brought the truck in with a different key. (Supposedly noticed by one of the other guys.).Same key used for the last 15 months. His reason being he said he could remove the key and the engine was still running. (Never happened to me)

He was going to replicate this, but battery was flat even though it had just started 1st time from standing over night. He tried two booster packs NOTHING. that indicates to me they initially used something else originally to start my truck hence the engine light on and being in limp mode.I am aware these trucks suffer with ignition/barrel problems. But this truck has run sweet as a nut for the last 15 months.
.
My impression is that they are trying to wriggle out of sorting this out.if there were any of these problems prior to them doing the rear diff oil seal.I am certain that i would have been aware of them.
I am somewhat surprised, because this garage has a good reputation localy.

if you had the wrong key it would not start, and after 3 tries you would be blocked even with the correct key until ECU was reset with the proper computer, Rick

What the hell difference would it make using a different key. Most have 2 keys don't they? I ran my truck to the mot station last week and the missus picked it up later using her key.
Unless they mean a key from another truck but that wouldn't work at all.
Hope you get answers and get it sorted ASAP.

Rick,And Blocky10.You are both correct of course.I did tell him i had no previous problems with the truck.I forgot to add,in my last post. The guy was saying, due to the battery drain.I must have been charging it up on a night time.Told him the alternator does that, and i have had no reason to charge it my self.I can do very little at the moment. And on holiday next week (using a mates motor). If truck is not sorted by then.It can go elsewhere and i shall go through the small claims court.Fed up with been called a liar, and looked upon as a simpleton.
