Hi
Found that the glow plug blue push connector was faulty/signs of wear i have a habit of spraying holts damp spray & spray oil on things, in engine bay for now i have connected using a block connector doing away with the blue connector will try fit new one its only one wire so could use a crimp think the wire has 12 volts only when starting.

MIL light off now but will read code. because it was turning over and over several time other things could start failing and putting light on

we had a focus MIL on said fuel sensor of some kind only changed filter light went out never had bother again so some times can send you down the wrong path.

nice job Glen. so, how worn was the blue plug, because they are pretty big and sturdy peices of plastic?

when you say you used a block, do you mean you cut the blue plug off, and joined the wires using a regular electrical block connector?

I think you are right about the idea of "rogue codes" too, one problem can spark a code for another problem that does actually exist, i think ive had the same issue. I used to get a code for the fuel quantity adjuster sensor, and it would alwasy appear as a code after, for example, a stall. now, after hard driving for a while, it doesnt re appear at all :thumbs

Thanks for reply

Well worn yes the wire melted a little joined for now with what i call a choclate block white plastic could be my fault I spay oil around Not at work we have large bullet crimps.

Nissan will want silly money for new plug.

stood in nissan asking for battery teminals £28 + £26_ UNBELIVABLE

Will have a look around for a connector

Glen

you got a pic of what your talking about, some one might have an idea...

Dont forget there's about 40 odd amps worrying those glow plugs so use a good quality connector that wont rattle loose, or you'll melt it again:augie
Battery terminals are cheapest and best from your local farmers coop:thumbs

sorry

Not good at pictures

I have done away with the blue glow plug pull a part connector joined wire from first glow plug one peice for now its a little shorter so needs complete new wire when i get time

Glen

You had better change that connector as each glow plug takes about 20 amps so in total around the 80 amp mark then decreasing, that chocalate block is going to get very hot and melt if your not careful, i would ask around and see if you can get an original on back on it. You can get some battery terminals from here and a high currrent conector, https://www.electricalcarservices.com/battery-terminal-stud-c-55_226.html

Glad your on the way to a fix glen but as others have said you need to sort the connection as it'll be a great fire starter.

+1 :thumb2

or motor factors if theres one nearby....

Thanks for reply

yes will sort its not a small block it will take 6mm wire so what about top off glow plug x 4 only a nut that came with new plugs did have plastic type screw nuts but two broke so went with what came 4 nuts.

Glen

worried now

just checked the block its marked 750v so not small can not see amps but will ask electrision at work so if the block may get hot why not the white/blue cable wire that stick out from loom, plastic on block looks thicker, I have seen wires twisted together and joined with tape never looks good, block must be better.
