Ok, would like to say a BIG thankyou to all that have helped me over the last few weeks especially Rustic, Timbo 1975, Rayf3262, Clivvy, Jims-Terrano, Adz, Terranoman, Solarman216 & Briggie. (If I have missed anyone I apologise!).

Finally came to the end of the road with the terrano after the starter motor started to play about and was also told the gearbox could have issues. So its gone.

Now would like to still hang around and chip in 2p where and when necessary, even though I have gone back to German reliability!

Again thanks to all.

Glad you finally got the car you wanted, but I have recently spent two days lying under a 1999 318is changing rusty brake lines that were torturously routed, fitting new coil springs and shock absorbers and changing rear trailing arm bushes. Now if I can sort out the central locking and remove the rusted bleed nipples from the calipers all round will be ok.

Sorry I'm being cynical. Enjoy your new motor :)

Brake lines have been done on the last mot, all brand new replaced! So hopefully no worries there, he said they were a pain in the preverbial!

Im sure we'll let you stay on..

all friends here no matter what you drive

No need to thank us as we all do our bit to help each other. If you saw my post about the clutch you'll see how others jumped in to help me too.
Sorry your trip in to the world of Terrano/Mav 4x4 hasn't been a pleasant one. I'm sure the Beamer will be fine. Don't rule out one of these motors alltogether though as when you've got a good one they're fine.

All the Best and keep posting
Jim
