Just thought I'd post the latest.

I've been dosing the car up on injector cleaner and it seems to have done the trick, so hopefully it was some blocked injectors.

There have been a couple of threads that suggest mixing 25cl of acetone to a full tank (if one can afford to fill it these days?) will do the same job as expensive injector cleaner. I have also been advised that surgical spirit does a similar job. I can say that having occasionally followed this advice with both of my T2s, I've yet to experience starting problems in the coldest of conditions. I'm sure others will be happy to comment on pros and cons this practice.
