Ok, have an interesting one here.
No 4 injector is leaking. Definitely not blank or leak off pipes as have replaced them twice now.
No leak at idle but leaks with load, appears to come from base of leak off either pipe or blank. Diesel is squirting out not as a mist.
There is also buzzing coming from this area which is slightly intermittent but may be unrelated.
Is it possible that an internal seal has failed and high pressure fuel is making its way into the leak off line forcing fuel past the nipple where the blank/leak off connect?
Just theorising at the Mo but was going to take it off tomorrow and dismantle it for inspection.
Any input gladly received, cheers guys and gals.

I think Bosch but not sure, how do you identify them?
Nix spec 1st have replacements for £42 untested but with 3month warranty

Removed and disassembled the injector. The needle where it tapers had some black deposit on one side so have cleaned that off with fine wire wool and soaking all the bits overnight in unleaded (for want of anything better)
Will clean it thoroughly in the morning and refit.
I'll report update later tomorrow.
Thanks for the replies

Looks like Bosch as their is a small stamp on housing that looks like Bosch logo.
Not sure without my glasses so could be rust!
I'll post the code when I find my specs.

Just as an aside I have had the clutch done by my local garage, supplied the kit LUK and they charged £430based on 7.5 hours labour so not too bad as had quotes over£1000
Took the opportunity to paint centre console and fill holes left from police use (doughnut and coffee holders?) colour coded white to match body, looks mint.
Hardest bit was refitting top vents, very fiddle, so will post pic of that as well.

Ok, got it back on and took it up my local dually and so far so good, bone dry and running smoother.
I'll take it for a proper road test later and on the way to work tomorrow so will report back then.
Disassembly and clean up easy with guidance from manual, whole section devoted to just this and yes it is a Bosch.
Picks of console to follow

Fair play mate!!!! Been wanting to reply to this but not had chance until now!!

Thanks Banshee, this issue has been going on for a couple of weeks, very frustrating, the feeling you get from a successful self repair is delightful, early days though so won't crack open the champagne yet, been there too many times before.
Got an impact open 27mm socket which will also do no 1 injector for £15 after plying the till jockey with much love, only £5more than the standard 27mm deep socket they also had.
Heavy deposit of carbon around the needle hole at the bottom of the injector which isn't going to help the spray pattern so will do them all over the next couple of weeks although the manual says that no1should be done by a specialist.
These trucks are great, always puts a smile on my face when I see it of a morning, life's too short not to have a car that makes you smile!

Not sure if this will work, trying to upload pic of console

Just a quickie if i may !

I've had LOADS of probs with the Pipes / leak off pipes on my truck
I leaked the EXON VALDEZ over Northumberland on one holiday before I realised what was amiss !!

silicon tubing from an aquarium shop and tie wraps rather than MIKKALOR clips solved the problems

just a suggestion to the overall issue, rather than a solution to the actual.

best of luck !

Thanks Toska,
I'm pleased to report that a further test today with load and higher revs has been successful, still dry as a bone.
Like the silicon tube idea though, especially if coloured.
Ive been spending the last 2weeks pulling up on customers drives and having to dash out with a paint tray to catch the drips.

Those Mikkalor clips are fantastic, I won't use anything else now, what size were you using as I had a bad experience once and found I was using the wrong size

When I replaced mine recently I used 7mm clips. It was very tight getting them on with a pair of grips in each hand.
They were tight fit to get them seating correctly but ive had no leaks from any of them so far.

Fully tested now and still bone dry without a clip in sight!
Good shout Rik re silicon pipes and DERV.
I can't believe how smooth its running, feels like a new engine and a very easy job to remove and disassemble.
Got to love these trucks!

So going back to an earlier point on wheel spacers, are they really that bad? Anyone enlighten me on what the down sides are?

Clips on these pipes are not needed as they are not under any pressure at all, well very small ie less than a meter head, difference in height of leak off pipes to tank return pipe bearing in mind it terminates on the tank bottom so = less than 0.1 Bar or less than 1.5 psi, Rick
