Just replaced the headgasket on my 1998 2.7TDI and had the battery off for a week. The engine now appears to have an immobiliser problem as the engine will not turnover.Any idea's?

immobilizer on these does NOT cause a no-crank situation. Look elsewhere.

Known that the key fob had no effect. Looked at starter motor and found the supply faston was pulled off, must have been done removing the inlet manifold!! Now starting OK but the re-conditioned turbo is now blowing oil into the engine again, happy days !!!!

Just out of interest Hillbillie what caused your head gasket problem....its not that common so I'm assuming you had an unresolved cooling problem beforehand?
