hello can anyone help engine cranks over but will not fire no fuel to injectors any thoughts

How fast is it cranking over? when my starter went it used to change from turning what I thought was ok but was actually slow to not turning hardly at all. Replaced starter and all OK and turns over much much faster.

Check the downloads section within Quick Links at the top right of the screen.

Check battery terminals are ok as these tend to weaken and break, often the + side too.

Also check you have power going to the glow plugs? glow plugs may be faulty if you have power going to them perhaps. also check the glow plug feed connector at top of engine slightly to the driversside as this can become dirty and drop the power avaialable to the plugs. There is also a glow plug relay down the side of the battery againast the inner wing.

one of the issues with the ignition system is that when the NATS sees too low a battery voltage, it goes into automatic isolate, ie, the alarm is armed, sometimes it get confused and doesn't set the horn cct off, when this happens, it also cuts off the supply to the fuel pump in the tank...... best way to reset this is to disconnect the positive from the battery, count to 30 then reconnect..... that should reset the cpu, check the locking mechanism as well to see if it cycles, with the drivers door open, use the key fob to lock the car, it should lock and then unlock, if the fob is duff, use the key.........
If the battery voltage is less than 12.2vdc, either charge or use a jump start of some kind, the car should then start..

Assuming your car has nats of course........ if not then suspect fuel pump fuse?/supply?

have fun.........

When doing this, is there any smoke from the exhaust?
Do you know if there is no fuel going to the injectors?
Have you had a new fuel filter recently?
Has it just happened, or has it been getting worse and this is the first failure?

Sort out the idea of the NATS in the previous post first before even considering this.
I started a diesel once by spraying WD40 into the air intake while cranking, remove air filter first.
If there is air getting into the fuel line this some times gets the engine turning fast enough to bring the fuel through.

If this works then be aware there is an air leak in the fuel line somewhere.

I Reckon my battery voltage was too low today as when I got in the Terrano it would turn over but not start.............So I charged the battery all day then tried it this evening and it started first time.I am guessing that with the heater on and rear demist and heated seats and lights on the battery gets a bashing this time of year also this cold weather doesn't help.

So if anyone gets the same problem just try and give the battery a bit of a charge first.
