well my blue t2 has been parked for 3 weeks while i was away using my green t2.
i wanted to use the blue one to collect my wvo as boot is empty,but i got in and tried to start it but battery was low and turned over but slow,old battery from pj as brother gave me it for caravan when he put 2 new ones on.
i used the green one to collect wvo.
i have a new spare t2 95ah battery in garden i use for pumping wvo about so put that on trickle charge over night.
i wanted to get some derv/rug mix i use and swapped the blue t2s battery over to the charged one.
it would turn over fast but not start.
twice i gave it a good turn but no.
i got out locked it up unlocked it got in and it started as it does,before full turn over.
i held the gears a git as i noticed black smoke at higher rpm.went to garage got mix then home no more smoke.
i can only think it was the immobiliser got confused.
all ok now.
 
Think you are right, battery going flat over a period can do all sorts to the system, and as you found locking and unlocking with the correct key/blip sorts it out, Rick
