hi im a new member an im having problems with a 2000 terrano 2.7tdi, non start, immobilser light staying on constant on dash with ignition switched on, pluged in computer and no comunication with ecu or nats unit, preheat warning light and engine symbol on dash working as normal, think car is immobilised. Is there any wiring diagrams available or is there anyway of bypassing the nats system, any help much appreciated cheers

The answer is yes and, I believe yes.

Someone will be along shortly to point you at the manual and wiring diags.

(I can hear those bots beavering from here though! :augie)

depends which nats it is i believe , one cant be bypassed ive heard

if its like ford try swapping the bits with one you know runs, key+ ring round ign barrel, ecu for nats what we used to do with the transits if the pats went down

nats 1 can be sorted, once you find the unit (I have no idea where it is on a T2 but suspect behind the dash) nats 2 cannot be bypassed, if it is nats one and you have found the unit PM me and I will tell you how to link it out, we do it all the time on primeras for banger racing, but then we know where the unit (imobiliser) is, it is usually marked IMMU, Rick

I'll just chip in, and ask for alittle clarification on your symptoms, but if I understand you right then

a) try the second key.
b) pull the shroud off and check the teeeny little plug on the aerial around the barrel.
c) check the fuse and relay in the engine bay box which powers up the ecu.

I would favour c) as you say sometimes there is no comms with the ecu which would indicate its not powered up.

Dont have second key plus checked plugs and fuses all ok ecu is heating heater plugs ect and puting power to solenoid on pump is there a wiring diagram avalible handy for this vechile

without stating obviouse, have you got out of car, locked car with remote, then unlocked and tried again?
that was only way to deactivate nats on my 2008 xtrail, nats activated if car was unlocked and then not started within so many seconds, 60?

Knock yourself out. Its interactive so click on what you want and it will load the relevant section. But it may not have a NATS wiring diagram for obvious reasons....

well try getting the fault codes out first (plenty of threads on the subject).

ECUs change between facelifts and are very different so you'd need to get one of the same vintage to be certain....
