Does anyone know anything about Nokia X6 phones?

I wrote to Voda to cancel my contrat and get a PAC code and since then they have kept calling me. The latest offer is an X6 with 300 mins, unlimited TXT's and Internet and a Sunvisor Bluetooth Hands Free gadget for £20 a month.

Does this sound OK?

Jim

do a search amongst service providers jim , see what you can get for £20 a month .... you may be suprised

Jim, the X6 is a top spec phone, the deal they offer is very good. spec wise they have everything, including GPS (but not sure how "free" the GPS is, you just check if it has built in software)

its based on s60 still, and really, s60 is best avoided but if you are not fussed, then its well put together. Here is a good review;

for the spec, check here, its pretty comprehensive mate, a decent phone

good going Jim, i reckon you'll like it, techinically its pretty good (did you check the tech specs i sent?), so it will really come in handy BUT beware-DATA, these phones run live data apps, and multi task, so watch out unless you have a data plan!

Well guy's the tarif is:

300 Minutes (usual landline any network blah blah)
unlimted FREE Texts
unlimited FREE Internet

I'm assuming this answers the last two posts:)

Can't wait for Tuesday now:thumbs but it's got to be charged for 16 hours first:doh but that's normal.

Not had chance to read your links Clivvy, been too busy refurbing young un's bike. He's away for the weekend with air Cadets so he'll get back to a nice clean gleaming bike complete with two new tyres and inner tubes:thumb2 I really can not wait to see his face:rolleyes:

unlimited FREE internet?? thats a bloomin good deal Jim mate!! The links I sent are useful, one just gives you the tech spec (and its pretty high spec) and the other is a review. the review is generally good, the only downside they give is the s60 operating system, which is pretty old but hey, its a modern phone with modern apps and upgrades, should be excellent!

hope your lad likes what you've done!

Jim

Bang on well done :thumb2

Ive just squeezed a good deal out of them,m last week, on a blackberry. Lots to be had if you've got the bottle to push :clap:clap partic on line or when they call you.

I believe the e71 i had ran on the s60 v3whatever os and its sound.Same on the x6, maybe v5. Having been around a while theres loads of cheap or free utilities and (certainly on mine) uber reliable if you do regular updates.

Only reason I didnt go for the e72 on upgrade was that they offered a far better deal on the blackberry, to the point that our local shop said it was cheaper than they were allowed to do and advised me to go for it.

No brainer really.

One of the reasons i was keen to stay with voda is they have the best coverage for my area/activities apart from in our bloody house!!!!!! so i got one of those hot spot guaranteed signal units a month or so ago. £50 one off and its fantastic.so if you have any dead areas ........;)

unlimited FREE internet??

There are some brilliant deals and packages out there. Each to their own , one mans meat is another mans poison etc

I've just got (last week) a BBerry bold 97000 (the newest one) 600 minutes, unlimited internet and texts, full BBerry services a £15 rebate in the first month and £91 back for my old handset for £30 a month on an 18 month deal. You cant even beat it by getting sim only and sourcing a 9700 yourself. Its also £5 less than I was previously paying for less goodies even though that scheme was good value when I went onto it :nenau

As of last weekend there was no one at all could beat that plus I wanted to stay with Vodaphone and I guess they liked the colour of my money.

I would say go for it, shy kids get nowt ;):D

Jim, I may be the bearer of good news................ never had one out of the box with a flat battery. E71 came fully charged and at work they swapped 5 of us onto new nokias in one go a bit back. We were concerned that as we had to collect the phone in working hours (boxed up) and needed them from the word go charging up would be a problem. Not so all of them out of the box and into action with no subsequent problems:thumb2

Enjoy :clap:D

Thanks for the replies guys. It's taken me ages to decide what to do and in fact I was just going to a pay as you go sim but knew my phone wouldn't last long so I guess I'm a winner I hope. I'll stick it on charge and worry about using it the day after I think just to be on the safe side. I'm sure I'll be too busy to play anyway.

Jim

i think most phones come fully charged these days. what you will find is when you put it on charge, itll be ready in a very short period of time. I dont think the newer type batteries need quite as long to run in as the older ones..

Don't know what their functionality is like but Nokia maps are F R E E !!!!

You managed to get this for £20 a month, great deal i'd say.
My vodafone contract ends in august or due an upgrade from the end of next month.
Think i'll try and squeeze this deal out of them.
Well done m8:thumb2

You might have to write em a letter telling them your gonna leave when your contract is up. That's what I did and I was going to as well but that's another story.

Jim

I told Vodafone I was going to Orange because they were trying make me go on to a 24 month contract. By the time I finished I got free internets, free Blackberry internet service more minutes & texts than I ever use in a month & a Blackberry Storm 2 (which cost me £16). It does pay to be persistent with them & never accept the first discount they offer you.

My mates got an X6 it's a very neat phone his only grumble is the screen isn't as sensitive as he likes, though I suspect there's a setting somewhere he's not found yet! :D
