I have now had my 2003 tdi for one month, but I'm having a few problems 
This week I noticed that the power steering pump has become noisy, The pump was sent of for re-conditioning only a few thousand miles ago by the previous owner. I have a bill for £323.19 to confirm this.
The fluid is all nice, clean and cherry coloured and on the correct level.
Is power steering failure common? (car on 93k miles)
How much is replacement one?
Is it and easy job to replace?
here is a list of things that still need to be looked at:
I have a leak in the boot - will try the sealant repair fix.
I am loosing about half a pint of coolent a week.
I cannot see any obvious signs of leakage, how would I go about finding the leak?
I have read that the water pump is a weak point on these vehicles. i may just strip down the belts, and replace the water pump anyways and fit a new power steering pump all at the same time.
The front drivers side tyre is wearing heavily on the inside edge?
The aircon does not work?
The drivers doors needs adjusting as it drops a little - is this easy?
one of the dashlight bulbs has failed
The rear lamp cluster is cracked - I have been looking for a month for a new one including calling many breakers, no-one has one for sale.
Someone please tell me that these cars are worth sticking with? I think I bought a lemon i really do want to like it, but I'm wondering about p/x for something more reliable.
