I hope there was some kind of warrenty with the work done to the engine.

After compression test, they could remove the rocker box cover to see if the valve gear is ok, it may have been incorrectly assembled or set up.

Problems could be...
Failed head gasket due to crud left on the faces, or damage to the gasket prior to assembly, incorrect tightening sequence of the head bolts.
Failure of a valve, either faulty spring, or collets that have popped out and the valve dropped onto the piston:eek:
Incorrect valve clearances, or loose tappets... ( if present).
Cam belt failure due to over tightening, or too loose causing the belt to jump a tooth or two...
What was the original reason that the cylinder head was removed?

Hope you can get it sorted.

best regards,

Rustic

Hi Rustic, had the head refurbished as it had gone between 2 valves,we looked at the cam assembly, timing belt all appears ok,stripped out the injectors as 5th cylinder not as it should be,waiting on the compression test results(hopefully today).Hopeful of it being the injector but will have to see:confused:.
Had the head refurbed over there in Cornwall,so really hoping nothing awry there as they did a good job.
