Just changed the oil, and thought I'd run it to see if it leaked. Noticed a grumbling noise, which I thought was the exhaust rattling , but when I got my ear against the diff I could hear, and feel, it was coming from there. It went away as soon as I increased the revs a bit.
Do they all do that ?
Also I think the nsr wheel bearing is buggered. More fun !

would it be worth doing the bearing first to see if that is the problem? the noise could be traveling!

and have you tried greasing the calipes sliders for the pull to the left? :lol

It's definitely coming from the diff - I had my ear right on it.

The rear bearings aren't adjustable are they ?

Both calipers completely rebuilt and overhauled.

Daft question, but I take it you used the right oil and recomended ammount??? :augie

IF GL5 SAE80/90LS is the right stuff and topped up till it came out of the filler is the right amount, then yes. Haven't test drive it since the oil change so I'll see tomorrow if it's any different. Thing is it's always made a grumbling noise at low revs/speed. Just assumed it was the exhaust/rest of the car rattling due to low revs.
