ok car will still not start as there must be no fuel getting there so ill go and find a primer pump at the local barkers yard tomorrow and a new fuel filter and try again so fingers crossed:(

ok got the truck fixed now i will make a guide on how i did it later today and post it up it may be good as a workshop manual i think :thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

ok i have a minit at last this is how i fixed the problem

1. remove old fuel filter

2. fill new fuel filter to the rim with fuel and re fit to the car

3. as i cud not prime the filter i first took off the pipe that go,s to the fuel pump at the fuel pipe next to the fuel filter and sucked till the fuel filter wos 100% full then i replaced it again

4. i then took the pipe off under that that brings the fuel in to the filter from the tank and blow down it till the fuel had run to the engine and replaced it again

5. i then primed the fuel filter and it worked the primer wos hard again

the car is now runing 100% again

thanks for all the help and advice with this problem we got there in the end :thumb2

regards brian

If these priming pumps are a problem, and difficult to get, how about the system that Citroen Xantia's use, this is a rubber bulb in the fuel line and you just squeas it Ive had loads of these motors for a workhorse and never had any problem with the fuel system, which is the same style, ie lift pump in the injector pump, these Xantia priming pumps are readily available and all you need to remove one is a knife or side cutters and they can splice in with a couple of worm drive clips, Rick
