They all appear to be running a little rich!

Fancy blaming run away on re-badged VW's:lol:lol:lol if your lucky you can stall it if you have a manual box but if it's an auto I think your a little stuffed:nenau

Can stall an auto, drive forward then while still moving put it in reverse. Worked for me

I doubt you'd stall a runaway
However for all you snorkel types just stuff your sweatshirt in it.
OR rip off the air filter and do the same.

I have never actually seen a diesel runaway but I remember the Isuzu 3.0l Trooper (CAT engine) was prone to it if they didn't make the recall.

 Thought that would have damaged the box but glad it worked for you:thumbs

Wasn't intensional, for some reason I thought I was still in 2 so I pushed the lever forward to D.
I was in D and stuffed it into reverse :lol

this happened to my wife some years ago on her way to work one morning in a 1989 citroen bx, she actually eventually staled it as it seemed the right thing to do to her, still killed the engine though...not one person stopped to help just lots of lookers.... this was before everyone had mobile phones..

Happened to Me in my vectra many years ago now, didn't know what to do so got out & let it go....blew some & sprayed oil & water all over the road & no one could see anything
