Thanks Briggie for your insight wish it was that easy!
Squeak aint comming from rear wheel its comming from final drive housing.
If you stick your ear next to companion flange there is a rythmic squeak comming from behind it, right where pinion front bearing is housed, when you rotate rear wheels.
Think this is on its way out!
Whats it like to change.. Ive got electronic manual for R20 and it looks like a mean job involving loads of special tools etc
Is there a "down and dirty way of doing this" or not?

Now not too sure if it is bearing or UJs on knuckle next to final drive.
no real play in ujs that I can see but there is a squeak when you rotate shaft.
Its real difficult to tell .
truck only done 85000 so Im inclined to think it might be UJS... is milners open tomorrow?

heres a pic by the way how do you jet at the uj on the front end of rear shaft with the shield thing in the way? It doesnt seem to be bolted on anywhere?

Unbolt the other end it just pulls out of gearbox

Withdraw slowly:augie...

You don't want to damage the seal.

Have you tried greasing the UJ's, if it is them that is causing the squeak, then the noise should change a little.
Check a stone hasn't got caught in there.
