Just got to the end of the road and had a popping noise, foot went to the floor and no brakes, seems to be fluid all over inside of wheel, caliper, popped pipe??

Think we can say it's the caliper that's the problem. Just been dropped off at local garage by rac for them to fix hopefully tomorrow

full twin pot seal kit on fbay about %).put link on here the other day.
lots of dash at garage.

they will not mess around with seal kits, just whack on a new caliper and will probably pressure you to do the other side as well to keep it balanced, sounds expensive, Rick

well the garage have finally had a look, and it needs new discs and pads, as brake pad had fallen out and piston damaged the disc, (i new pads were getting low, but not that low!) also needs new caliper, and the sliding things need freeing, im getting charged £405 for the privilege! Cant say im too impressed with that price, but its there now, and i cant move it, hopefully itll be done by tomorrow

Blimey, feel sorry for you buddy... In some ways consider yourself lucky this happened there and not on the motorway or something. I see plenty of customers who eat their discs because they run out of oad material, but usually with backing plate, not with piston

Ouch :eek::eek: TBH tho can't see how/why the brake pad could of just fell out:nenau Price seems very high to me as you can pick up a set of performance disc's & pads on ebay for £120 but normal ones will be cheaper, maybe 2 hours labour = £120-140 then the price of a caliper

Prob matching nissan prices. These are not a lot, I sold front discs and pads for an old skool xk8 for nearly 1300 quid a month or so ago

Even I nearly fell over when I saw the price

The customer still went for it though :lol
