As far as I'm aware wind up will occur in both High and Low box's. You can select 4wd High whilst on the move but check your manual or the instruction sticker on the drivers sun visor. Doing this may help if you start slipping. Remember our 4wd is for traction and not to help road handling.

ive been in 4wd LOW for over 15 miles on normal raods.. towing a caravan, was the only way i could get up the hills with a naf MAF.

in recent snow, we were in 4 hi on bad side roads, then drove probably quarter of mile
on main road which was just wet as thawed then back onto snowy side roads. was fine
in 4 hi, could feel resistantance but kept all actions gentle, no extreme steering. if any
thing wheels would have slipped or skipped on wet road. wouldnt do for prolonged dry
road though.
