Hi guys I could do with a little help on this one my speedometer doesn't work at all
I guess there is a sensor on the gearbox somewhere
Any info as to its location would be much appreciated
All the other cluster gauges are working fine

The PR 50 workshop manual on this site should show you where it is. On my r3mR it was a connection in the wiring issue.

depending to what diagnostic plug you have, I've got obd11 type plug so easiest way to check is plug in my bluetooth adaptor fire up the software on my tablet and see if the ecu is actually getting a reading of speed, if so that eliminates the sensor and pretty much upto the speedo servo motor itself, if the ecu is not seeing speed then it could be a sensor issue but would have thought you would have had a mil light flashing

Hi thanks for the help, would the sensor be in the transfer box?

On mine it was the main plug into the back of the instrument cluster it would work OK then after a speed bump it would stop sometimes for a day or two.

Never had to go as far as the sensor !

Think pre 2000 they will be cable driven if it is it could be the cable has gone or even the gear drive in the box or speedo at fault, i'd pull the clocks out first to see if it is cable driven or not as it's pointless trying to test a sensor that might not be there in the first place:augie

Hi mate

Hi mate I have taken the clocks out tonight but unfortunately its not a cable
So guess I will have to get under and see if I can find the sensor and take it
From there
Modern technology😧. Give me a good old cable drive anytime:thumbs
