Just remembered that I also found that a couple of the inlet manifold bolts were loose letting in some air I suspect.

Not wishing to be the harbinger of doom, but the slow tick over can be a sign that the injector pump in on it's way out. I had this with my old 97 swb.
It started with slow tick over of about 600rpm,and shook as you say, but would came up to speed after 30 seconds or so,then after 3 month or so of trying to sort this one day it just went . it would tick over at 600 ish but when you prest the throttle nothing happened .if you want to know more look at these treads

Hi mate

adjust the potentiometer on the accelerator pedal, only a small adjustment mind you...we are talking .5 of a millimeter at a time.

Thanks for your help I will try and have a good look at the pedal
Over the weekend. I've not the metal pedal cover of but its not
The easiest place to see

Hi mate

Be careful with that little screw.I tried to adjust mine on old tdi and it sheared off.
In the end I loosened off the two screws which hold the wire spool and moved it ever so slightly which tweaked the tick over.
This auto I have got now is the same, rattles and shakes at idle in park at around the 600 rpm mark.
Another job on my to do list.

Hi mate I had a go last night and you are spot on l also have
Sheared the top of the small screw its a real swine of a thing
I'll have a better look at the weekend its not easy to see much
At the pedal .I guess there must be a pot somewhere

I have had a look under the pedal but can't see the pot
Its not the easiest place to see is it easy to access?

macabiethel is your man , hes had one and loved his r3mr

although I believe the regulus is the " blinged up " version of the r3mr ..... spoilers , body kit etc

Air inlets

Have you checked all your pipes on the inlet side - in and out of air cleaner etc ?
I assume your intercooler is low left hand side wheel arch with the intake in the bumper scoop. My pipe was wrapped with silicone tape where it went to the inlet manifold when I bought her.

I ended up buying a genuine new inlet pipe due to its shape as I could not find a silicone one as its different to the standard Terranos. It was expensive at the time around £80.00 mark but it was better than tape! This was part of a raft of tidying up I carried out in the first few months of ownership. I never had any issues with the fly by wire electronics.

hi

Thanks for the info weather permitting I will have a good look at the weekend
