Just bought a 'c' reg 2003 nissan terrano 2 to replace my existing one which is falling apart. Insurance people want to know which model 'S/SE/Sport' it is as apparently they cant get this info from the number plate and I cant find anything in the log book or on the vehicle. Anyone got any clues how I can find this out? Thanks, Rob S

is it on a private plate being a "c" reg as this does cause problems sometimes getting correct info but i think thats down to the idiots that work at dvla some pics might help too of the inside and outside of it :thumb2

my 53 is a sport, has colour coded door mouldings, no roofrails and half leather/suede.

on motors.co.uk is a two tone sve, has mouldings, and roof rails. full leather.

my previous 52 S was single colour, no mouldings, no roof rails.
on motors theres a 52 SE, but looks more like my old S.

As far as I know, SE has leather interior, sun roof, and roof rails, the SE plus has all of those plus heated seats.

Often dealers and nissan stuck what they wanted on vehicles such as badges, leather, bars and alsorts. There is even optional extras that customers asked for too.
For my money I would suggest going to a dealer with a photo of the VIN plate and see what they can tell you. You might get charged but if they are going to charge you’ll get it printed. Sadly with the best will in the world your insurance company will tell you that anything from members of a forum is only hearsay and worth nothing to them. Sorry that’s no offence to anyone but that’s a pragmatic view looking at it from the eyes of an insurance company.

previous owner said its an se, the last one I had was a sport and had 'sport' written on the back whereas this one doesnt so guess he's right.
