Hi, im from the North West and I didnt know where to post this but I need some help finding my grandads old car.

When i was young I was very close with my Grandad and i have a collection of pictures and remember him driving me around in his Nissan Patrol 1993. He sadly passed away when I was 4 years old and as I grew up my uncle took his old car which I loved as it was a memory of the great times i had. When i was young my parents were telling me of how he used to say he wanted me to have his car when i could drive. My uncle sold it and since that day ive been very upset and determined to find his old car. Im now at driving age and i want to have it , as its something that means alot to me. I have some details about it and would love if anyone could give me any details about where i can find it or anything like that. This is what ive got so far:

Registration Number: A789 LLM

Nissan Patrol SWB Diesel H/T 1993 3246cc Three Door Estate Manual Diesel

Any information would be extremely deeply appreciated

Many Thanks in Advanced

you thought about putting an add in the local paper. some on emight spot it, and tell the owner...

your best hope is pop into the police station and say someone reversed into your car in a car park , and someone took the reg number of who did it :augie

or ring dvla

or hpi might show up who is the owner 15 quid with rac. butmost traders get them for 6 quid

great idea..

but say wifes car thats at home. they might want to see the damage before finding out

Well if the DVLA entry is right, it was a 1984 manufactured left hooker that was registered in 1993, so presumably imported at that time (clearly wouldn't be a brand new 1993 model left hooker). It also says its currently unlicensed so odds are its been scrapped or on a tip somewhere as it would be 26 years old now.....

Also the 'Date of Liability' (when the VED is due) is 2003.......its long since gone.

yeah you old NAG.

back to the troll though. id still look for it . you might get lucky. and wont take much to find it

eh? when it ain't been taxed for seven years? who are you, Sherlock Holmes already? LMAO!

Thanks alot for the information and advice guys, really appreciate it. I call my cousin telling me a Polish man had bought it off his dad for the purpose of driving to Poland, i dont know if the man did in the end, but does this answer for it not being on the road at the moment?

Thanks again

It would certainly be one reason and might explain why it hasn't been formally scrapped (which would have made it vanish from the DVLA register).........

I would expect a '93 Troll to have a half life of at least 100years so you should be able to find at least some parts of the chassis.......!!!
Steve

You can get the last recorded keeper from the DVLA. One of the reasons you could get it is exactly as you say, ie you used to own it :D
Go through their site and I think you have to pay £2.50 :doh
If it wasnt so long past its tax you can get the info free by saying it er bumped into your car in the car park:sly Use that next time you want car info, just like the P.I.s do :lol

84 Troll, left hooker, made in foreign climes.....

1984.......... 'B' Plate fords - spanish "Steel" :eek:The only things left from that era are greasy to the touch and few and hard to find!!

He may still have a chance...Slim... but a chance never the les!!!!:clap
