Screw the tachometer mate, you'll be fine with some mental arithmetic :lol

Actually, ask jay666d, he's got big tyres on his so knows what it does to the speedo :thumb2

Most Y61 speedos read overly high anyway.

Think she's on 2" springs from memory so you'll be able to go to 285/75 R16 (33") no problem and they'll be 20mm wider and about 2" taller than your current tyres... AND she'll still read high on the speedo just not as much.

My Y61 was on 33s and still read high.

There you go, easy peasy :D

The wife and I are currently doing this so taking up a lot of time and effort but will be well worth it when we’re done.

Has mine got 16” rims [emoji848][emoji1787] I’ve no idea this weather has been nuts the last few days not been able to get outside really.

Yes, can read the size off the spare (265/70 R16) and those are the same rims as my Y61 had. The 17" Trol rims look different.

To be exact your alloys will be 16" +10 offset and the steel spare 16" 0 offset, all 8" wide...

I ran 285 75 16 on my Patrol and would not have wanted to go any bigger without looking at changing the gearing, as I only got 18 mpg or 20 if I drove like a nun, down from 28 on standard size.

Kind regards

Russell.

I had standard Cooper STTs on my Y61 (came before the Pros) and really rated them as a mud terrain. Good grip in the rough, not too noisy on tarmac and wore well. For a mud terrain they weren't too bad in the wet either.

Those Insa Turbos are much more aggressive and will be noisy as, also will be terrible in the wet. You shouldn't need a tread that aggressive if you're planning on more all round use for the Trol.

The comforcer tyres have decent reviews :thumb2
