Hello all.

Great forum lots of useful info.

This is my first post. I have a 1994 Nissan Mistral I have been fixing up for a while now.
What I am trying to suss out just now is if my wing mirrors are heated, because if they are they are not working.

Im going to check the fuses but my diagrams in Japanese, I do have a English print out somewhere. Just thought I would check here in case there any mistral owners who know already. On the mistral the mirrors also fold electronically so I thought they would be heated as well.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

Electric folding mirrors on a 1994, living the dream!!!

Welcome buddy, we have a few mistral owners on here who should be able to give you a definitive answer

Get some pics up matey :thumb2

Surely if they are heated mirrors the backing or the front of the lens will have some sort of strip type heater on them no? :nenau

Not sure Alex, they might have an element on the back :nenau

Yeah, but what I meant was, by removing the lens, there should be a sign of something there right? :nenau

if its blank, prob not heated :thumb2

Welcome aboard, nice motors them mistys. If they work the same as mine they turn on with the rear screen heater. I cant see anything externally on mine to show theyre heated suppose you could pull the door card and put a circuit tester on the multi plug connections and test with the rear screen heater on.

the mirrors aren't heated , they are electrically operated ........ they fold in / out as well as up down :thumb2

On my 1994 Terrano they don't fold in (not electrically anyway) but they are heated and as Jim says, turn on with the rear screen demister. Switch this on, leave it on for a minute or so then feel the mirrors - if they are heated the glass will feel quite warm.

I have heated mirrors on the Trol - as Jim and Terranical say, they go on with the rear screen element although the glass doesn't look any different (to me anyway!).
