Has had very little use but was working fine earlier this year. Come to (TRY) to change CD's for hols. tomorrow & find it wont play, wont edject (but makes a noise!) & displays 'no disk' although it has 6 in it.
I gather this is a common problem but has anyone got the answere to getting the disks out?
Not used to having frequent electrical problems (had varoius reliable Vauxhalls since 1973!) but it seems to be par for the course with Nissans. I manage at least one or two a year, which is a shame as it lets the, otherwise excellant, Terrano down.

To be fair, the CD player is either Alpine or Blaupunkt, so this one is not really Nissan's fault.

I would start by checking the connector, I think it is on the back, but behind a metal protective cover. If you slide the drivers seat all the way forward, you should be able to see things a bit easier.

The other thing to try is to take the car out for a run, with the heating blowing to the floor, nice and warm, then try to eject the disk again, the rollers can get sticky/dirty, and a change in temp, can at least allow you to get the disks out. The fact it is making a noise, means it is trying.

Thanks Lazy-Feret. Will have to wait 10 days untill after my hol. but here's hoping.

Sorry, you are right, I meant Clarion, Brain has gone to sleep.

I do have a Nissan changer I removed from my car, when I changed the stereo, if you are interested.

I think you've done well to find a nissan cd changer, they are rare as I searched for one before my conversion :thumb2

Just spent the last 3 hours removing & fiddling (ie. pocking it with a screw-driver) about with my CD changer. Don't know what was wrong with it (suspect sticking CD) or what I've done to get it working again! Everything was apparently working & making noizes but it would not edgect or play. Then suddenly it did edject, so I removed the CD's put back the ones I didn't mind loosing, & hey-presto (or some of the other words I was using) it was AOK. It now works as it should but I am none the wiser as to why.
As to the make, it only has 'Nissan' on it.
My son recons I don't use it enough & that was the trouble. He's probably right as it only gets any use 2 or 3 times a year. A bit like aircon then: use it or loose it LOL.

Can't say it's the same issue but at jaguar a customer had the same issue, turned out to be the cd itself. Seemed a tiny bit more bulky than others, it was a genuine cd too, or so it seemed. Might be worth a look. I would prob bin that cd too :thumb2
