Last week I received our second 4K Lorex Camera (LNB8973) for our home CCTV set up. Today I have cut out the mounting surface bracket to attach to our garage roof fascia. It's quite a bit heavier and longer than the present wide angle camera (LNB 8005) so might have to put an extra support in place.

Although we will only be using 2 of the possible 8 Channels it leaves us options for any internal cameras in the future if we feel the need. The new camera is varifocal /zoomable via the NVR unit - it will enable us to get good close up images of anyone that comes to our front side door. At present the Ultra HD NVR unit 2 TB hard drive saves over 4 weeks of recordings.

First coat of paint applied to the hardwood mount is recoatable in 12 hours. Tomorrow it will be a second coat of paint and routing the POE cable through the garage loft space.

Not many people these days will go to the effort of making a hardwood bracket, good to see what is regarded as an old fashioned material being used. Older ideas are often so over looked or ignored. Before my little visit away in a nhs hotel I started fitting out an en-suite but as part of that started running cat5 cables for our system. Love doing jobs like that.

What recorder/controller do you have? I’ve been a bit worried about noise levels so thinking about sitting it an under stairs cupboard and remote to it via web gui.

What recorder/controller do you have? I’ve been a bit worried about noise levels so thinking about sitting it an under stairs cupboard and remote to it via web gui.

I have a Lorex 4K Ultra HD NVR 2 TB storage plus you get some cloud storage for free, from the U.S. via e-bay. Came with mouse, keyboard included software disc / instructions etc. Easy to set up I can view on my phone as well as my PC. It has lots of stuff like markers on the recordings when motion sensor activated. I bought a Monitor to suit off e-bay some as new ones.

Mounting & cable in place.

Mounting in place with wiring through Garage Roof to NVR just need to make a hinged wooden plinth to give left to right adjustment. Camera Mount only effectively gives you up & down with some rotation.

Not sure if you know, but the stub bit with the screw in the side, that goes into the square mounting, rotates, you just have to undo the screw till it is loose, you can then move the slot to one side, giving you sideways movement.

Yes it does but it does not move enough left to right it just lets you angle the camera in a circular/ rotational way. It also alows up & down movement of course. It's not an eyeball type adjustment.
