Hi I'm new to 4x4s. I've recently got a ford maverick. She's an old girl of 20 years ...
Welcome to the best forum for Mavericks, Terranos in disguise.
Nice to see some one else bragging that they have a 20 year old Maverick, you should fit in well lol.:thumb2
I occasionally mention that I have owned mine from new for over 20 years, lol.
by the way, ours are 2.7 Td's not Tdi's, ( I could be wrong, does yours have the scoop on the bonnet, ie intercooler ) ours don't suffer from MAF or crank case position sensors issues either, ok we have less HP , and lower road tax, and less head scratching.
Here is a list of reasons why you might have power loss on a 2.7 Td.
Faulty or poorly seated fuel filter.
Air in the fuel lines, fuel is "sucked" by the fuel pump on the engine, so any corroded or leaky fuel lines will draw in air.
Minifilter in the fuel pump can get clogged, yours will most certainly have one, unless a previous owner has chucked it.
In the down load section there is a write up on how to do it.
I'm sure when you join, you will see the benefit of being a member, we all like cheap fixes, in my opinion, we know more as a club than all the Nissan dealers put together.
When you join, you will start fixing problems you never knew you had lol...
