Hi - I've just acquired 1999 NISSAN PATROL GR SE TD and am delighted with it so far. I plan to drive down to Morrocco in the autumn so want to sort out any gremlins asap. So I'll launch in and ask a few questions...

The truck starts and runs well but seems to tickover fast - around 8k revs. What would be the right tickover.

The steering bumps and snatches at full lock - diagnosis please....

All the gadgets seem to work - but the "stabilisers are off" on a permanent basis - according to the light on the dash. Switch has no effect. How can I tell whether this is working? I previously had a Defender so I'm used to a rough ride!

Thanks in advance......

welcome to the best club ever!

The steering bumps and snatches at full lock - diagnosis please....look in download area...

JUST NEEDS SOME GREASE ON THEM

Thanks for the welcome.... sure nice to find positive people these days!

What did you mean by the download section. Can't find anything relevant - is there a FAQ area of the site that I'm too thick to find...

Cheers:augie

its under replacing steering stops ... 2nd item down

The stabiliser is on the rear anti roll bar. Check the rear nearside and you will see it, the offside is fixed, so when it is on you have an anti roll bar and when its off it is disengaged for off road use.

Patrol should be in 2WD when not offroad. Can you explain abit more about whats happening with the steering?

:)

hi is it a 3,0 td, mine idles aaround 700rpm, maybe 800 when cold,
mind it has a really uselful function called heat, a switch that raises
it to 1200, almost like a hand throttle. gets car warm quicker, nice
if sat somewhere nad dont have to balance throttle.

welcome troll owner!

who are you going to Morroco with (expedition company) or are you going on your own...

Hi thanks for th einfo. Sorry I'm a bit slow in responding - I travel a bit and am not always near a computer.

I'm looking at organisaed trips to Morroco as my wife only has the usual hols - so it need to be short and focussed for the first attempt anyway. After that - who knows.

Anybody got any recommendations abour tour companies...
