im after some new tyres just wonderd which are ok as there seems to be a lot of diffrent types on the market
my t2 is fitted with perelli scorpion s/t at the moment
could some one shed light on what the letters stand for
eg st / mt / ht / at / i think means all terrain
thanks in advance
 
A/T = All Terrain
M/T = Mud Terrain
As for the others i'm not sure on but someone else will know :smile: I like my A/T's as they grip the road & ssm ok off it up till now :smile:
 
scorpions good but not cheap! i had them then got ofered deal on some bf goodrich longtrail a/t they were as good as scorpions.
navara has general grabbers at2 on a mo but its ripping tread blocks of rears good off road though! if your just gonna do gentle bit green lanning and mostly road work stick with scorpions or longtrails or simalair!
 
General grabber AT2's are great...

But I will be putting some Colway AT's on mine soon. Yes they are remolds but I have never had a problem with them in the past and they are great off road. Also good on road.

My mate has them on his jeep and has never had a problem with them.
 
my truck spins outve junctions wet or dry so easily an its tearing tread blocks ive few missing on either rear now im not realy feeling i can push it in corners like the mav on longtrails it was like it was on rails!
 
HT = Hard Terrain, like roads.

Check the specs for the tyres, look for things like 60% Road and 40% Off road. then think how much you really want off road tyres. also speed restrictions may apply to off road tyres.

I used to have Bridgestone Dueler HT's fitted to mine simply because that's what it had fitted when I bought it. I noticed it seemed to go through tyres very quickly so I have started to change over to Toyo Open country AT's on the two front and Bridgestone on the back until they wear down. Make sure you have the same type tyres on both sides of the back axle with similar wear on each tyre as the back axles are sensitive on these. It's also worth having your rear diff oil changed if you don't know when it was last changed or even what type of oil is in as this is crytical too. One last thing when you have new tyres on the front having the tracking checked with someone sat in the drivers seat.

decided to stick with the pirellis as it drives nice with these fitted thanks for all the help much appreciated
