just of jun 2 m5 thanks for coming back mate sorry took time not brill will computer

Welcome matey

Where about's in the Midlands are you? I'm in the Midlands myself :thumbs

Firstly you have a choice to make SWB or LWB and then there's a choice of 2.4, 2.7 and 3.0 depending on the age you go for. I'm biased and would say the SWB 2.7 is the best as it's better for not getting stuck when off roading and also the 2.7 is the only 1 of the 3 engines that you can run on vegetable oil if you're interested in saving a packet on fuel bills :naughty

Only real problems with them is the dreaded rust, check the wheel arches, bulkhead, around the back door and rear floor pan especially around the seatbelt area on the wheel arch, if they wont let you lift the carpets to have a look then yank on the seatbelts hard. If they feel crunchy or make a noise then its def time to walk away or pull the carpets.

If it's the 2.7 that you're going for then it's generally accepted that the ones fitted with the Bosch MAF and Bosch Injector Pump are stronger and a tad more powerful in terms of power delivery.

If I think of anything else I'll chirp up, I'm sure the rest of the clan will be along soon :thumb2

There's other more likely culprits for water in passengerside footwell but most are not serious. When do you pick it up?

Good luck with it and you'll get all the help you need being a member on here.

Might not be the seal there are other places water can get into passenger floor including rear tailgate seal, and as it is a 3lt do not think about running it on less than pure pump derv, Rick

Hi pal. Top choice of motor. The 3ltr is definitely the best. Ignore everyone who says otherwise. They're only jealous. :lol
Water in the passenger foot well is usually the seal on the wiper motor plate in the scuttle. Just a case of unscrewing it, cleaning it up and resealing it. I used bathroom sealant as I had some already.
Ian.

Excellent! Another 3.0ltr power house owner on the site.

:thumb2

Oh no another 3.0 litre traitor, prepare the cannons

:hide:

:lol :lol :lol

In honesty mate I haven't drive a 3.0l Terrano yet, I hope to soon just to feel a comparison, mine almost put the same power out now as a 3.0 after the powerchip was fitted. Solid engines from what I've heard and the rest of the components are pretty much the same so don't worry we've got you :thumb2
