Stole the Mrs motor today, cut a long story short, parked up for a while and flattened the battery, got a guy to jump start it but although it was sinning over fast it would not fire, had this once before and disconnecting the battery for an hour cured it, but not this time, so tried it again for 90 mins, still no joy, so called a mate with a trailer and sat in the car waiting but with the battery still connected as needed to charge my phone and make lots calls to try and resolve the issue, anyway 2 hours later (traffic) my mate arrived, said can I wind it on with the starter, and it fired up straight away, now I need to know what is going on, it is clearly to do with the immobiliser but what? Rick

Whats the immobiliser light doing Rick? Is it flashing as normal or on solid.

I have had that a couple of times now,

First time I found this, and this is the thread of how I got it to start,

The second time, that did not work, but I found that if I charged the battery, got out of the car, and shut all the doors/bonnet/boot, locked it, and then unlocked it and tried again, it started OK.

Thanks Clive I tried everything imaginable, foot brake several times with battery disconnected (Bosch pump) joining both battery leads together, lock and unlock with plip, ignition on and off lots of times, however did not try locking and unlocking with the key, but it is an annoying thing that must be mastered, Rick

Luckily it happens so infrequently, that you never get a chance to "prove" the theory, but part of the reason I made a note on here, was so next time, I can look on here for a memory jog.

On!y time I had this one of the battery terminals was cracked, enough power to run bits, but just not quite enough to start
