Having completed a 450 mile round trip today to bring my new off road swb Mav home, purchased from Xkaibre, I am now well and truly shagged, decided when I saw it that diesel was the way to go for off road fun, the petrol is great till it gets wet, and I like the wet, and also having rolled it and got a fuel leak, was not impressed with petrol floating on water, it spreads far, so pics of the conversion will be posted as they happen, Rick

there will be many bits on the mav that I will not want, so ask away, Rick

Has it got abs by any remote chance ?

What are the axles like ?

Only thing is, mine has abs

Have not even lifted the bonnet yet, and going out on a date tonight, so will have to wait till Saturday, Rick

Good luck on the date

Remember it's tits first ;)

Glad to say no ABS, and I need the axles, but I do have a scrapper, what is it you need, Rick

Still after a h233b rear axle with good LSD and abs

Oh and 4.365 ratio

dunno what mine is but i do have a rear axle with good lsd

Have to say this is the first TDi I have driven and noticed straight away the low down torque is the pits compare to the petrol, I can see a lot of clutch slipping will be needed, any one have any ideas how I can increase it, if possible, Rick

Cant help with the ABS, I do have a good LSD type that bolts from the front but not sure what ratio it is, will have to look it up, what exactly is wrong with yours, Rick

Mines got the later backplated c200 diff, the diaphragm springs crack and breakup, basically they are shite compared to the h233b

I see, I have a complete axle but no ABS so not a lot of help, Sorry, Rick

Never had to slip my clutch ever :augie Low down torque seems fine on mine. Have you checked air filter or better still go KnN or similar.:augie
To improve things assuming no faults, I'd be looking at getting the turbo to spin up earlier , so get it breathing well. Bin the std turbo outlet elbow, it's a nasty bottle neck.
Then the usual EGR and throttle body flap. Check your intercooler for oil in it. Bin the oil blow by.
Just realised this was xcalibers truck. He ran veggie oil I think, so check/change fuel filter and lines for bungie rubber syndrome, that'll choke things up ;)

Bin the mini filter and replace the standard fuel filter

Replace fuel lines from tank to middle of vehicle

Check intercooler for leaks/oil marks where tubes meet end tanks

Blank egr

Remove linkage for throttle flap and fix open by adding 3 or 4 washers to spindle and tightening up

New maf

IMO these are essential when you first get your diesel Terrano

get a AUTO box rick , no need for clutch slipping :thumb2

upset i couldnt make it for your party this time mate :(
