Thanks re i have my eye on a 1995 ford maverick swb 2 owners from new mileage only 33k!!! (i know i had to look twice !) I really fancy a change after owning hatchbacks for years i have been 2 look at the mav and had a short drive in it (only in normal gear range not 4x4 ) loved the elevated driving position and the simplicity of it.The current owner 2nd has had it for just over a year it is immac inside and out the engine and seats are spotless but re mileage there are no old mots to prove that the mileage is gen but a stamped service book and the last mot only (its due december) also he is asking 1.7K for a 16 yr old car. am i being too cautious ?? I only do about 4.5k miles a year so mpg is not too much of a problem but work shifts so I do need something reliable ie when i turn the key on a cold Jan mornin at 5 o clock it needs to start sorry for rambling and thanks in advance.
