Hi new to the world of 4x4 ownership.

Just purchased my 2004 Terrano II 2.7 Tdi a couple weeks ago.

Seemed to be going ok till the instrument dials stopped working a few days ago. just befor a weekend to the lakes was on the cards for the Easter break. New car niggles for you.

Other than that replaced a power steering pump, clutch pedal bush, Gearbox oil, diff oil front and back. Oil, air and fuel filters and a set of new wiper blades.

Also have a poly bush anti roll bar kit for the front and back from millners to fit and plan on picking up the poly kit for the Panhard rod, then look on heavy duty shocks and springs for the back.

My plan is to take the middle and back seats out and build a bed frame with under storage and do a bit of overlanding up to the lakes Scotland and Wales.

Any advice and pointers along the way would be very appreciated. From what I have seen you lot seem to know the inns and outs of these trucks. So I think am in the right place.

Welcome aboard and a nice clean looking truck. Sounds like you’ve been busy, have you fixed the instruments yet?
I’ve been a member on here for years and saved loads of money with cheap fixes and made a lot of friends along the way.

Hello mate definitely been a busy week or two. Not had chance to pull the dials but going to tonight see what’s happening on the back. Was tempted to pull it and send to Ac Tronics there charging £114+vat to fix it aswell as replace other common faults with the instrument panel.

Hi and welcome.
Good looking truck you have. Some would say, the only colour worth having :lol
Hang fire on the instrument clusters, there'll be a couple of folks later with ideas on them:thumbs

It went off the other week lcd and dials then I removed a 10amp fuse under the steering wheel all come back on then went to the lakes in it to pick fishing bed up with a friend got there fine then the dials went off the lcd has stuck on the same miles as when dials went off no trip has gone up not temp display and some of the lamps don’t work eg coil light etc

I’m sure people have mentioned these dials before. I know dead lcd segments is dry joints behind the guages, someone did a nice write up on fixing these so maybe same problem.

LCD had a dark spot in the middle originally but after the first black out and pulling the fuse it come back on all clear no dark spots so maybe it’s something else than dry solder will work out in the end but if a project for me to get my teeth in to

Welcome Reidy.....nice looking truck, well done.....the niggles will be resolved by the magicians here.....:thumb2

Welcome and what a colour for a great looking truck...
