Well it finally disintegrated to the point of not being able to bodge it no more. And it's the front pipe which I have not wanted to get done due to the nightmare of snapping studs that can happen. So went over to leeds to pick one up: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?sbk=1&nav=WATCHING&itemId=220988948230
Listed with free delivery so I got it for £36 with 2 gaskets :clap
£30 to fit it at a local garage. Was a bit unsure about the lad who waa doimg it so I gave him a bit about the manifold studs and to be careful. :sly No need to worry though as he did great.
I gave him a hand cos it's a real tight fit past the prop shaft
£66 all in. :clap

Yep i got a local garage to do mine the other month saved alot of hassle.

Cheers Gav

Annoying that the Exhaust was in good nick. Just the flexi that had gone on the front weld.
Would not have wanted to attempt the job without it being in the air.

my new front pipe didn't have the welded on doubler plates near the bend. what are they for?
Its on now, I aint changing it again!

Are you talking of a possible heat shield, if so, is there anything close by that could get toasted?

Doesn't seem to be... there's about 2" clearance all round
Some illustrations of exhausts on the spares sites have it on one side only, the old one has it both sides.
My part was 41 including gaskets from the (only) shop in Macclesfield.
