New Fob Required

I've read all the forums re: Fobs etc, but I have another query.

My fob doesn't have a sticker on the back, but the ICM (?) unit under the dash says 5WK4 785 - 418Mhz. Now, I've found loads on e-bay with 5WK4 782 - 418Mhz , but no 785's, do you think this will make a difference even though the Mhz is the same ? at only £5 I'm tempted to take a punt, any ideas ?

Try breakers yards or web sites like www.partsgateway.co.uk. If you do pick one up which I'm sure you will let us know please.

I tried the partgateway. but they came up with nothing. Can anyone shed any light on my original post re: the difference between 782 and 785 and as to whether this would be OK with the mhz being he same ?

I thought there were only two different fobs a 782 -- 418 MHZ and a 600 -- 433.92 MHZ

I hear what your saying and I agree, those are the only one's I've ever seen. However, I am taking the data off the control box under the dash and the only key I have doesn't have the label on the back of it.

Maybe someone could check their fob and control box to see if they have the same corresponding numbers.

It's dead easy to find the box, it's under the right hand side, below the steering wheel, two screws and it pops off.
