I installed the exact same from Milner's last year. Went on without issue, and holding up well...

Mine missed that little second box as well, but it doesn't seem to make a difference, apart from a bit more sound I think.

In praise of S.S. systems

You need to wary of SS exhausts, while most will not rust (some do depends on grade) but SS is nothing like as strong as carbon steel so cheap SS tend to fracture and break up, just needed to point out SS is not the holy grail of exhausts, cost for cost I will stick with the everyday product, Rick

Whilst not cheap there are a couple of fairly local firms to me that fabricate S.S. systems using high grade S.S. with a lifetime warranty when they supply & fit. I have had 4 systems from them for various vehicles over the last 20 years and have been very satisfied with the quality and reliability.

They are P.D.Gough http://www.pdgough.com/

and the second was called Huthwaite Exhuasts and split from P.D.Gough some years ago I think there was a falling out of partners and they are now called cylex ?

I switched to P.D.Gough Ltd for a reason I forget now and they built the system for my r3mR including the flexi-front pipe.

I just received a new exhaust (the full system, 3 pieces) from Milner's but it is somewhat different as compared to the original one (see image) - they insist it's correct - do you have any experience with this?

If it's any help, mine's exactly the same as the bottom one (new one).
2003 2.7TDi

Just replaced the unijoints on the rear propshaft, and had a good look at my exhaust (see above in this thread, ordered June 2015 as full SWB kit from Milner's).

Downpipe is OK, bit of surface rust. End pipe is rather rusty, but good for another year I think. Mid section is almost corroded away - it looks like the damper box is actually delaminating.
I'll be calling them later today to inquire on warranty etc...

Have to disagree mate,I've had a milners exhaust system on mine for coming up on 3 years now with no problems.
As with everything nowadays people only post to have a winge and moan about how crap things are:lol:lol
We as a society are always moaning and emphasising on the negative!!!
Positive and happy is the way forward:thumbs

Bro you know I'm always trying to be on that positive vibe but of the 14 orders from the past 3 years with them I've had problems with 11. 3 of those picking errors and the rest was dodgy parts.

I know some have had no problems at all but seems that there are more out there that have had problems than people who haven't. They wont get any business from me again EVER

The last time I gave them a 14th chance they stitched me up with those exhaust gaskets

Personally never had any problems with Milners but i have heard others have.
Must just have it in for you:lol:lol:lol:lol

Never had an issue with them before, even got the club discount refunded with my last order - when I had forgotten to mention it!

I agreed on the phone to send them some pictures of the exhaust, we'll see what the outcome is. Local suppliers are at least double the price unfortunately.

I'll be watching this with interest as mine is pretty similar condition.

Got mail back today, in answer to the pictures I sent: center section incl gasket and tail pipe will be replaced under warranty. I only pay the shipping (mind you, I'm not in the UK, so shipping to UK might be covered, I don't know).

All in all, very happy with the outcome.

Don't count your chickens, you've got to get the new article first and if you do there's a chance it will be the bloody wrong thing but fair play to them for swapping it.
