New cv joint rubber boot

Just had a new n/s boot fitted on the drive shaft here in Spain (proper job, not the "zip" type) - €48! That's around £42. Hour and a half labour at €24 an hour and €12 for the boot, that seems remarkably cheap to me. Anyone have any idea how much that would cost in the UK?

Not if you do it yourself, super easy job, in fact I have one to do on the new motor, thankfully it's an outer one, I've been told that the inner ones are a ballache as you have to unbolt the driveshaft on the transfer box and lose alll the fluid on the floor :doh lol

I've used the split type ones and they are terrible. I've recently purchased a Bailcast fitting cone that makes installing them a breeze :clap

i Changed one last week and unbolted the shaft of the transfer box and no fluid came out as it bolted to flange this was on a 1999 model :thumb2

I replaced both cv joints, never lost any oil.

Erm????? they do not fit to the transfer box but to the front diff, no oil can be lost from this as the flanges that the shafts fit too are part of the front diff, think someone may be mistaking this for another vehicle, Rick
