Yes new battery charger arrived yesterday all 58 kg of it, cannot wait to get it hooked up in the morning, pics to follow, Rick

No it is not, it is to charge our half tonne battery that supplies our power, it puts out 100 amps at 24 volts and is a multi stage charger, tried it this afternoon but it was only delivering 45 odd amps as the battery is in a good state of charge, Rick

What do you power that with? Generator?

1975 3 cyl Lister ST3 with a Brush alternator, 9 Kva, it will run my Planer/thicknesser and my 3 Kw air compressor that a 9 Kva modern SDMO unit would not look at, but by far the best for charging the batteries is my 1975 Twin ST running a 24 volt buss alternator via a very good charge controller, it uses far less fuel but have to use temperature sensors on the battery to avoid overheating, acceptable high temp is 50 C running/design temp is 30 C but all automatic, the charge rate is cut as temp rises, Rick

Sounds like a part time job! You will be sorted if we ever suffer from major power cuts :thumb2

yep last year Bexhill suffered a major power outage for many hours (do not know how long) and we were completely unaware, only next day people complaining that I knew, even internet via mobile dongle was good as base station has battery backup, Rick

it is not easy being green

Well now I have two battery banks and two 240 volt charging systems and two inverters and one high amp 24v dc charger, so now need to supply switching between these units to be able to charge each battery from different sources, draw current for both inverters or one at choice, and be able to charge one or both batteries from whatever source is available, 6 x 300 amp isolators should sort it, diagram to follow but have to draw it then photo it in order to post so maybe a while, Rick

Work in progress

Forgot, how you got on with those diffs? Rick

Just trying to find time to get them fitted! I'm fitting a new rear bumper this next week and a swing away wheel carrier that I've designed so once I get that done I'm going to try borrow my mates ramp to get them switched over :thumb2
Plus the wife's Zaffira has decided to brake down! Which I'm now fixing  New alternator tomorrow :thumb2

well here it is after a lot of work, all connectors are 50mm cable on soldered spade lugs, so now I can switch to what ever I need
