so have leak from #4 injector. looks like original blanking plug has deterioated.

had thought a pipe had fallen off but gather the return to the pump then tank
is on #1.

So any one have part number, local engineer is struggling with main agent.

says isnt high pressure as return then says need proper part despite cant id it
and doesnt want to bodge it as safety issue.

car stinks of unused fuel dripping down engine/box and sitting on x-member then
dripping to road.

so typical sorted my power issues, new maf, new air filter and disconnected
egr vac pipe, now this.

asked as feared if injector leak would need i/c off but does look like can get
into it just near egr, if have child hands .....

My local motor factor sells them... although not sure if they sell them separately. They sell leak off hose kits, with the ends included. The come in 1/2 and 1 meter, and to do the lot ont he T2, you need the 1m kit.

Worst come to the worst, Halfrauds also sell them... just pre-mullered..

thanks LF, so that first link is that the bung 1 need for the 'inlet' of #4 then
4 pipes for 4-3, 3-2, 2-1 and 1 back to pump ?

mind only 3 pipes in kit?

those pipes are generic? only ask as engineer reckons seen bungs but are to wide.

the leak off is a non pressure pipe, a short bit of leak off pipe with a metal plug in the end is perfectly acceptable, Rick

thanks for advise, just a natural worrier.

When asked him to look thought the blanker was a pipe that was broken
and somehow trailing down back of engine.

Now know its a generic injector, well not a #1 type with needle thingy.

Funny I said to him if struggling can you not bung a bit of pipe and told
me cant bodge fuel, could leak, despite fact thing is leaking anyway so
cant be any worse.

sack your fitter he is a pratt, Rick

I think the stuff I ordered from Fleabay was 3.2mm. That stuff, although sold as leak off pipe, went hard and cracked after 2 months, and was leaking worse than the original pipes I had changed.

As I said, popped round to the motor factor, and they just had these pre-made up bags of a length of either 1/2 or 1meter, and 2 end stops. He said it was pretty standard size that they sold to anyone who asked for it, non-car specific.

It looks like the first Halfraud like is pre cut, but no pipe from injector back to pump, where as link 2 is a single length, so you can cut it to suit.

As Rick says though, if you have any pipe left over, just cut an inch off, stick a large self tapper in one end, and put a small cable tie round it, then stick that on... simples....

Cheers ended up at another motor chain and got a generic kit for 5.99. 1 plug and 3 pipes so presume there isn't the same issue from # 1 to pump and beyond.

Can you see any issue with the lost fuel that's un down back of engine. Will it dry up with heat. Equally any risk, aware diesel oonly.burns under pressure etc thinking with heat it will have on long motorway thrash.

if you have cured the leak any residual fuel will evaporate and the risk of ignition with diesel is negligible, (I have cut holes in diesel tanks and welded them up again with oxy/acetylene (naked gas flame) with no problem at all, Rick

As Rick says, unless you are going to start welding around there any time soon, it should all be OK...

When mine was doing it the second time, it was pretty serious, I was leaving puddles at traffic lights. Once I changed the pipes, I made up a bucket of hot water with some washing powder and oxyclean in, and poured a couple of them over the back of the engine, then a couple more of plain water to rinse it back off. Mainly because I could not stand the smell of the diesel hanging around for any longer.

You'll be fine dude don't worry about it. Mine leaked heavily for ages, just changed the pipes and carried on, job done. :thumb2
