Need a new Cat

Hi,

Anyone had to buy a new cat for a 02 plate 5 door 2.0 manual maverick?

Had some different quotes so far:

Ford £1300
National £400
Moto Save £130 for a universal cat.
Most of the usual fitters just said dealer only.

The Universal Cat at £130 sounds best so far.
Any help from past experience would be appreciated.

try company called fuel parts they may supply you through caravan company you got they do alsorts not just fuel parts lol

This may or may not be of interest to you but BM Catalysts are a major front pipe/cat manufacturer in Mansfield (Notts). They have the ability to laser image a part and then CNC bend the pipes and manufacture a cat or other part of an exhaust from your pattern.

They are usually keen to 'image' new parts to expand their range and therefore don't charge the earth for what is really a one-off service, as they obviously hope to sell a few more in the future.

All their parts are manufactured in stainless and they are a 'real' manufacturer as opposed to a wholesaler/importer.

You need to tell them that you are interested in a cat that they currently don't have in their range (I've checked).

You'd be without your part (and hence your car), for a few days but it may be worth it in the end to get the right part at hopefully the right price?

PS Just in case you're not aware and your ringing around, the late Maverick cats are almost certainly the same cat as fitted to a similar year Mazda Tribute.
