Guys, I'm after the complete set for the above. Its a modification normally done under recall. Coming in at over £600. Do we have club discount with anyone. I"ve got a Terrano but helping out a mate. Thanks in anticipation.

only company i know of is billingcar on above banner on site

but was not aware of it been a recall issue have u any more info

Ta. Been on to Billingcar all day on and off. The recall info is via Glyn Hopkins Nissan in Milton Keynes. The service manager definitely stating that the timing chain is a recall on this model. They will do it free with the car having FSH (not necessarily Nissan FSH) As I said in my original thread, the Navara is not my vehicle so I do not generally have much interest in them. My mates is an 07 model. May be best to make a phone call to your local dealer. His chain was virtually splitting apart and had worn right through the top of the adjusting "cam" Sounded like nails in a washing machine. Good luck and apologies if it's going to make you lose sleep.

Glad the timing chain is now fixed. Tell him to cross all his fingers and toes and hope the bottom end doesnt now lunch itself...!

its the d22 with bearing isssues d40 has a common rail engine, did not know that they had problems with their chains(also a d22 issue).
Tony
Looked on the navara site. nissan say they have extended the warranty -5years:95000 mls Not all are being replaced only noisy ones, same old rubbish from Nissan then.£10000 when they break and explode through the casing. There are cases of chain stretch as well.

My D22 had recall for timing chain.i had part service history not full. service history has nothing to do with recall as its a product issue. oh and timing chain still went after replacement.

I can assure you that the YD25DDTI is still capable of big end / self distruction, certainly not nearly as likely as in the D22 model though.

Secondly, I would not bother having a replacement simplex lower timing chain replacement done, go straight to the duplex conversion kit etc.

The simplex one will stretch and chew up the tensioner / case again in short order.
