My weird Mav

Just an update if anyone has had the same trouble as me with hard starting and plenty of smoke, I NOW HAVE IT CURED!!! I bought a second hand fuel filter assembly because some of the wires were quite corroded on the other fitted and hey presto starts on the button with the smallest amount of smoke puff. I know I have done all the other work over the last year or so but was it just that simple! :nenau Just have to sort the new problem out of the gearbox.

Just out of interest, have you taken the four screws/bolts off and removed the fuel heater ? Mine was half eaten away.

No I haven't but as the engine is now running sweet I wont be looking just in case!

the heater is part of the filter assembley
